NFL Wild Card PLayoff Notes

NFL Wild Card Playoff Notes
  • Outright winners are 35-2-1 ATS L38
  • Home FAV of 7=> are 10-0 SU ATS since 2005
  • Sunday away NFC teams are 10-4-1ATS L15
  • Saturday home teams are 15-6-1 ATS L22
  • #4 Seeds are 14-6-2 ATS L22
  • In the #3 vs #6 games, UNDER is 9--0-1
  • Of the L18 with totals 44=>, UNDER is 13-4-1
  • Only 1 home team that has scored >20 has lost in the last 16yrs, 35-1SU &30-5-1ATS
  • Only 2 home teams that scored =<20 has won in the last 14yrs, 2-25SU & 3-23-1ATS
  • Teams with an edge in Offense Yard per Point are 29-17 SU ATS since 2006
  • Teams that allowed fewer points per game are 22-12SU & 21-12-1 ATS
  • Teams that allowed less yardage are 24-12 SU and 23-12-1 ATS
Overall patterns are that records don't matter in this round of the playoffs. Teams with the higher regular season record are 15-17SU and 14-17-1 ATS in the last nine years. Homefield edges are greatly diminished as well. The values seem to be with yards per point, total yardage allowed so defense comes into play.

The above information mostly comes from VSiN. So I thank them for compiling what I believe are good non-team based trends that should be looked into.

Good Luck

Scott Webb
