National League Team vs Team Chart
It is good to know what teams are beating which others. It is even more important to know the hierarchy in the division games. Each team will play a team in their division 19 times. That accounts for 76 of their 162 games. Of their remaining 86 games, 20 are Interleague matchups. These games are not always "strength of schedule" fair because there are rivalries and such. That leaves 66 games to play the teams in the other divisions in their league.
A couple of notes about the chart above.
Look at how ARI did versus NL West teams. They were the more dominant team. They had more wins than LAD or COL. ARI went 11-8 vs LAD and 11-8 vs COL. The gap to beating LAD for the division might be smaller than most believe it is. Look how dominant CHC was (46 wins). Interesting to note they were 14-5 vs rival STL. WSH had 46 wins in their division too. Although that is a high number, they can improve on it. They were 10-9 vs ATL and 11-8 vs PHI so that is not exactly dominant.
Some things to keep an eye on.
